About
ZBF's Story.
ZBF Limited is run by Zac Bradley-Fox — the person who quotes the job is the person doing it.
The story
Sixteen years across plumbing, gas and drainage — six of them running ZBF.
Zac Bradley-Fox was born and raised in Wellington and started his apprenticeship straight out of school. Sixteen years later, he's qualified across plumbing, gas fitting and drainage — a combination most tradespeople in the region never pick up.
Ten of those years were under a previous employer, working across every type of job. The last six have been running ZBF as a one-person operation. When a job crosses disciplines — a renovation that needs new drains, a hot water upgrade that involves gas, a bathroom fitout that touches all three — one tradesperson handles the lot.

Learning the trade the way you're supposed to — on the tools, under senior plumbers, on every kind of job that came through the door.
-
Ten years in
Qualified across plumbing, gas & drainage.
Ten years with a previous employer got Zac certified across all three disciplines — the combination most plumbers never pick up because one or two is usually enough.
-
2020 — now
Running ZBF Limited.
Six years operating as a sole trader across greater Wellington. No call centres, no subcontracting. A lot of the work comes from repeat customers and referrals.

How Zac Works
Four things worth knowing.
Most trade websites talk in slogans. This is what it actually looks like — the handful of things that shape every job, from a two-hour callout to a full bathroom renovation.
Repair before replacement.
If something can be fixed properly, that's the recommendation you'll get. A lot of Zac's work comes from being the second or third plumber called, after someone else quoted a full replacement.
Straight advice, no upsell.
You'll hear exactly what's going on and what the options are — in plain language, not trade jargon. If there's a cheaper way that works, that's the way Zac will suggest.
No bigger than it needs to be.
Sort the problem, don't grow it. If a job is two hours of work, it's two hours of work. Nobody gets a bathroom rip-out quoted for a leaking tap.
Quote = who does the work.
When you call, you speak to Zac. When Zac comes to quote, he's also the one who'll be doing the job. No handover, no call centre, nobody else to brief.
